In the first quarter of 2022, the top five carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in the United States showed varied performance trends. Here’s a look at their weekly downloads and active user metrics throughout the quarter, according to Sensor Tower data.

Uber - Request a ride started the quarter with around 101K weekly downloads, experiencing a slight dip to approximately 74K by mid-January. However, downloads picked up pace, peaking at around 108K in mid-March. Active users fluctuated but generally increased from about 3.2M to 3.9M by the end of March.

Lyft showed a similar trend in downloads, beginning the quarter at roughly 87K and seeing a decline to around 59K in mid-January. Downloads then steadily increased, reaching about 82K in mid-March. Active users rose from approximately 1.7M at the start of January to around 2.2M by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver maintained a steady download rate, starting at around 71K and ending the quarter at approximately 66K. Active users showed some fluctuations, starting at about 646K and ending around 630K.

Lyft Driver had a consistent download rate, beginning at roughly 13K and increasing slightly to around 15K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 190K throughout the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a modest download rate, starting at approximately 12K and ending at around 9K by the end of March. Active users showed a steady increase from about 58K at the start of the quarter to approximately 65K by the end.
